I began as a Graphic Design intern at the Smithsonian’s National Museum of Asian Art in June of 2025 and transitioned to being a part-time employee in October. In both of these capacities, I assist with the development of internal museum graphics such as wayfinding and label signage, as well as print and digital materials that are distributed among museum attendees and patrons at events and through social media.

I also work closely with the exhibition department to develop and produce exhibit graphics. This includes regular conversations with the exhibit designers and production department, which have given me a deep understanding of material and production considerations in exhibition design. I have also worked with our design and production teams to apply vinyl and print & stick graphics throughout the museum.

As an intern over the summer, I had regular opportunities to learn more about different aspects of museum work, including conservation, curation, visitor experience, photography, collection management, and project management. I have attended workshops in object handling, copywriting, visitor observation, conservation, and file handling, which have helped me build skills that I use regularly in my design work.
